How was the Gateway Arts District created? When was it established? By whom?
| The Prince George's County Gateway Arts & Entertainment District is funded by grants from M-NCPPC and Prince George's County Councilman Will Campos. The Arts District was officially established in 1996, and has developed as a result of several community meetings by the Gateway Arts District Management Team. In addition, the Arts District is identified as part of Maryland Milestones's Anacostia Trails Heritage Area (ATHA) in Northern Prince George's County. |

How many arts-related businesses are there in the Gateway Arts District? What is an "arts-related business?"
| As of May 2012, we have recorded over 100 businesses within (or within two blocks of) the Arts District whose services appeal to our arts community. Businesses must work or serve goods/services in the visual arts, performing arts, arts management, culinary arts, cosmetology, design/planning fields, and other forms interpreted as formal studies of the arts. Business types are located on our Business Locator. |

What are the perimeters of the Gateway Arts District?
| The Arts District runs north-south along Baltimore/Rhode Island Avenue, beginning at Oglethorpe Street at Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville and ending at Eastern Avenue at Rhode Island Avenue in Mount Rainier. The Gateway Arts District is the only arts district in Maryland to feature more than one city/town, and is the first in the Washington, DC area (following Wheaton, MD; Bethesda, MD; Silver Spring, MD; and the DC Arts District of Washington, DC). |

Who manages the Gateway Arts District public relations and publicity? Who runs MyGatewayArts.org?
The Arts District's Management Team oversees all public relations and publicity through the Gateway CDC and Hyattsville CDC.
The Hyattsville CDC monitors this website and promotes public relations through the MyGatewayArts handles on Twitter, Facebook, and by e-mail. It is run by our Content Manager, Justin Fair, of the Hyattsville CDC. |

| As of May 2012, our Lease/Rent Studio Locator is under construction. Please e-mail our Content Manager, Justin Fair at Content Manager to post. Include press release including property location, space specifications, space price, press release date, and contact name, e-mail, and telephone. |

Who do I contact to find a new studio? |
How are artists listed in the Artists' Directory?
Artists who live or actively work within the Arts District can list themselves by (1) If they have a studio, (2) When they are open for hours, (3) Their media, and (4) Their location.
Artists must visit & care for the community, therefore having a ‘stake' in its development. Artists do not need to have a studio to be listed, nor do they need to have exhibited recently or provide examples of the artwork to be listed. |
